Matt O. - 1:30 pacer

Matt started running cross country in high school after getting cut from the soccer team, and quickly fell in love with distance running. The camaraderie of group runs, the calm of a long solo run, and the thrill of racing are all integral parts of Matt's life. Matt has been a distance runner for 25 years, building up from 5k's to marathons and a couple ultras (not too many of those though!) Matt has completed over 90 half marathons and close to 80 marathons, and has paced over three dozen events. He is looking forward to helping people meet their goals as a pacer!

Mike B. - 1:35 pacer

Mike is from Edmond Oklahoma and found running later in life and never raced till he turned 40. He has since run Boston 6 times. He has 4 finishes below 3 hours and a half PR of 1:21. Recently he has begun focusing on longer endurance runs and has now run multiple ultras including Leadville, Javelina and Black Canyon. He is currently training for a grueling 100 in Buena Vista Colorado. Though he loves to compete he also loves to help people reach their potential and has been drawn to the sport because of the people and the community of encouragement that is evident. He now has drawn two of his three kids into the sport and now they are also competing.

Jeff’s long term goal is to run a sub-3:00 marathon.

Cameron H. - 1:50 pacer

I started marathoning back in 1999 with no idea what I got myself into. Fast forward to today, I got a lot of "what not to do" more than "what to do" stories. For me, marathons are always a work in progress. I am slowly working on running a marathon in all 50 states, with 16 completed thus far. If work didn't get in the way, I would be done by now. My annual goal have been to do the "Run the Calendar Year" to keep me motivated and sharp in between marathons. I just love the sport of long distance running. This will be my first time pacing a group and I am very excited for this opportunity. We will be partying for 13.1 miles at the Stilly Half Marathon.

Her father wanted to run a marathon for his 50th birthday so she joined him. He made it look easy to run and then have a full day of work ahead of him so She thought it wouldn't be that bad. That first marathon was Gena's worst! If you have experienced a tough race please join Gena as a pacer. She'd love to see you accomplish your next!

2:15 SmartPace Teams

Chad N. - 2:15 pacer

Chad did not start his running journey his 52nd birthday. He was challenged by a group of his church peers to complete the Rudolf Run in December 2018. Starting in October he attempted his first run and was only able to run to a light post and walk to the next one. After 2 months he was able to make the 5K in 29:51. During this time he noticed his weight was starting to drop and this became a huge motivator. The 5K progressed to the 10K, to the 15K and finally the Route 66 half marathon in 2019. During this year his weight dropped from 240 lbs to 190 lbs. After completeing the half he fell to the peer pressure to attempt a full marathon. At this point all his training was done on his own. He decided if a marathon was the goal he needed a training program and signed up with Fleet Feet Marathon in Training Program in the spring of 2020. It was during this time the passion of running with fellow runners became apart of who he is. He went from participant to coach and has been coaching for three years. This Stilly Half will be his first time pacing and he super excited to be apart of the 2:15 runners.

Kathryn W. - 2:45 pacer

Kathryn has been a competitive runner for 40 years. Over the last 26 years, she has completed 193 marathons/ultramarathons over 75 of them officially pacing. Her prowess to maintain a consistent pace and finishing so close to goal time, has earned her the moniker "The Pacer Queen". She is in pursuit of running all 50 states, but is slowed by the willingness to run the same marathons every year. Continuous streaks include 26 Houston, all 19 Oklahoma City Memorial, and all 13 Route 66 marathons. The positive of running so marathons anywhere is that her son has been to more states and countries than most adults. Kathryn's favorite quote is "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift." Steve Prefontaine.

Amy K. - 2:50 pacer

Losing a parent at a young age from Heart Disease to fighting obesity I have found a love for running and triathlons. From barely able to walk down the hall without feeling out of breath to running half and full marathons and participating in triathlons I have gotten years of my life back. I enjoy supporting and empowering others along my journey. If you want to succeed make a plan, set a goal and put one foot in front of the other. Anything is possible.

3:00 SmartPace Teams

Becky N. - 3:00 pacer

Becky is a 54 yr old runner from OK and has been running for over 25 years. She started doing half marathons in 2010 and marathons in 2011. First half was OKC Memorial and first marathon was Big Sur. Since then, she's run 35 halfs, 12 marathons and 1 ultra. Becky has paced 5- 15k races, 7 half marathons and 1 marathon. She has come within 30 seconds of goal pace every time. She has been pacing the 2:45 - 3:00 half marathon finish times and generally does run/walk intervals. She has found that 15/30 works very well for those times, but that interval is not set in stone. She will modify according to what the group would like to do. She loves doing what she can to help people reach their goal times.
